SBR Rubber & Sponge
Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is one of the cheaper general-purpose rubbers. Its physical strength, resilience and low temperature properties are usually inferior to natural rubber, though its heat-aging properties and abrasion resistance are better. SBR is not resistant to oil or fuel, and it can be prone to weathering.
Styrene-Butadiene (SBR) is a copolymer of styrene and butadiene. SBR compounds have properties similar to those of natural rubber. SBRs primary custom molded application is the use in hydraulic brakes system seals and diaphragms, with the majority of the industry usage coming from the tire industry.
Die-Cut Products stocks a broad spectrum of sponges & rubbers for your custom fabrication needs. This includes both solid rubbers as well as open-cell and closed-cell sponge rubbers. All materials are available with full cure date, shelf life, and supplier test reports right from the mill. Need RoHS-compliant material? We offer that too!
Benefits of SBR Rubber & Sponge
SBR features excellent resistance to brake fluids, and good water resistance.
Typical temperature range for SBR is -50°F to +212 °F
