High-impact polystyrene (HIPS) is a low cost, tough plastic material that is easy to thermoform and fabricate. It is often used for retail displays, point-of-purchase displays, banners, and indoor signs. High-impact polystyrene can be assembled with mechanical fasteners, solvents, or adhesives.

Typical thickness ranges for high impact polystyrene is from 0.030″ thick up to 0.250″ thick

Grades include high impact (PS), cross-linked (unfilled), static, and others.
